Polishing Your Professional Edge (1.75 Hours)



Course participants learn how to listen to own their inner boss, how to identify internal standards, how to create a plan to meet those standards, and how to apply their inner boss’s guidance to gain more control over work, goals, and future. This course focuses on attitudes and behaviors that promote self-empowerment. It provides strategies for self- empowerment through self-coaching, approaches for developing an entrepreneurial mind-set, and an opportunity to apply a model for self-empowerment to enhance performance. Applying these approaches, helps learners become self-empowered contributors in an organization. The course explores the basics professional behavior and proper business etiquette. Course participants discover how to project a professional image. Additionally, the course addresses personal activities that impact professional image, including social media presence. Course participants learn how to show leadership accountability, implement strategies for setting goals, develop an action plan, and see all those competing tasks through to completion.

Anyone in a position to control the content of an educational activity is required to disclose to the accredited provider their relevant financial relationships. Methods and CE Requirements: 

This online course consists of a combined total of 4 learning modules. Individuals are eligible to receive a total of 1.75 hours of continuing education by completing all modules within this course. Participants must complete the media-based video lectures, lesson tests and all required course components to claim continuing education credit. 

Important Note: 

Martinsburg College shall furnish a written statement of completion to each participant who completes each continuing education program. The statement shall be signed by the instructor or an individual designated by the instructor and shall contain the name of the continuing education program; the number of credit hours; the date of the continuing education program; the name of the participant; and the approved provider number. 

The records for a CE activity are maintained by the Martinsburg College for a period of five (5) years and include: course announcement, target audience, course reference materials, course objectives, content outline or agenda with timeframes, evaluation tool(s), teaching methods and materials, instructor's biography, curriculum vitae or resume with qualifications, and a course participant list.
