Description
This course provides an understanding of the importance of inspiring and motivating strategies as a leader, as well as practical techniques to inspire employees to work together toward the goals of the organization. In addition, the course includes a general introduction to communicating vision, including its nature and its purpose, and guides participants through methods to successfully communicate vision, such as personalizing and multiplying a clear message, communicating enthusiasm in an authentic way, and making the organization’s vision for the future the employees’ vision. Additionally, the course presents strategies for being persuasive and effectively influencing a team to accept ideas. Course participants learn the importance of political awareness, the essential skills involved in using positive politics, and skills to avoid negative politics to persuade others. Learners also have an opportunity to practice methods for influencing effectively and ethically. This course delivers an understanding of how emotional intelligence (EI) abilities impact success as a leader. Finally, the course covers the practical, positive techniques for promoting and improving the emotional intelligence quotient (EIQ) to navigate emotions and relationships within the business environment.

Motivating Your Employees

Motivating your team requires an understanding of what can inspire and drive each individual. This course provides you with an understanding of why inspiring and motivating strategies are important as a leader. It also provides you with practical techniques to help you inspire employees to work together toward the goals of your organization.
Communicating Vision to Your Employees
Leaders should strive to communicate vision with a sense of integrity and authenticity. Engaging your team with enthusiasm and honesty will help build trust in your leadership and belief in your message. This course provides a general introduction to communicating vision, including its nature and its purpose. You will be guided through numerous techniques and methods to successfully communicate vision, such as personalizing and multiplying a clear message, communicating enthusiasm in an authentic way, and making the organization’s vision for the future the employees’ own vision.
Leveraging Emotional Intelligence

Participants must complete the media-based video lectures, lesson tests, and all required course components to claim continuing education credit. Important Note: Martinsburg College shall furnish a written statement of completion to each participant who completes each continuing education program. The statement shall be signed by the instructor or an individual designated by the instructor and shall contain the name of the continuing education program; the number of credit hours; the date of the continuing education program; the name of the participant; and the approved provider number. The records for a CE activity are maintained by the Martinsburg College for a period of five (5) years and include: course announcement, target audience, course reference materials, course objectives, content outline or agenda with timeframes, evaluation tool(s), teaching methods and materials, instructor's biography, curriculum vitae or resume with qualifications, and a course participant list. |
